A Memorable Day at the 8th Annual Lolo/Lola Palooza Convention

On August 29, my mother and I had the pleasure of attending the 8th Annual Lolo/Lola Palooza Convention held at Novotel. This year's event, organized by the Philippines Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology, centered on the theme “A Community Approach to the Integrated Care of the Older Person.” It was an enlightening and heartening experience from start to finish.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this convention was designed with care and attention to detail. The sessions offered a deep dive into the latest research and innovative practices in the field of geriatrics. My mother, in particular, found the talks incredibly engaging. The speakers were not only experts in their fields but also passionate about their work, delivering presentations that were both informative and inspiring. They explored new ways to approach integrated care, providing practical advice and hopeful insights for improving the lives of older individuals.

One of the highlights for us was the emphasis on community and inclusivity throughout the event. As adherents to a plant-based diet, we were pleasantly surprised and grateful to find that plant-based meal options were provided. This thoughtful inclusion allowed us to fully enjoy the event without having to worry about our dietary needs. It was a small but significant gesture that made a big difference in our overall experience.

The convention also fostered a sense of community among attendees. The opportunity to connect with others who share a commitment to enhancing elder care was truly fulfilling. We had meaningful conversations with fellow participants, exchanged ideas, and left feeling more connected to a network of like-minded individuals dedicated to improving the well-being of older people.

Overall, the 8th Annual Lolo/Lola Palooza Convention was a remarkable and enriching experience. The combination of insightful presentations, thoughtful inclusivity, and the sense of community made it a memorable day for both my mother and me. We left feeling inspired and appreciative of the efforts made to advance the care and support for older individuals.
