"Planting Health: A Plant-Based Potluck Event" is where the veggie-loving community comes together for a fun-filled gathering! Picture this: friends chatting, plates piled high with delicious plant-based goodies, and laughter filling the air. It's all about sharing our favorite recipes, swapping tips on healthy eating, and connecting over our love for nutritious, cruelty-free meals. Whether you're a seasoned plant-based pro or just dipping your toes into the veggie pool, you're sure to leave feeling inspired and belly satisfied. So bring your appetite and a dish to share, and let's grow our health and happiness together
Please join us in Surprise, AZ on the second Sunday of the month to enjoy delicious plant-based dishes and meaningful conversations. Bring your favorite vegan dish and a printed or written recipe to share. If you don’t have time to prepare a dish, please still come to connect with others!
When: Every second Sunday at 2pm. We wrap up no later than 4pm.
Where: Clearview Fellowship Hall, 19554 N Papago Dr, Surprise, AZ 85374
Cost: No cost. Donations are welcome to help with speaker’s materials and transportation.
Why: To build community and share information about health and lifestyle medicine, including whole foods plant-based nutrition.

Jay Sutliffe, PhD, RD; Professor of Nutrition & Foods and Director of the PRANDIAL Lab. Northern Arizona University. Research interests are related to: disease prevention and reversal using non-invasive lifestyle practices, wellness across the lifespan, and lifestyle habits of college students. The courses he teaches include: Food Is Medicine, Nutrition for Sport & Wellness, Nutrition Research & Communication, Culinary Arts for Health, Global Nutrition & Foods, & Nutrition for Community Wellness. In addition to his academic experience, he has years of experience in community and residential-based health promotion programs, plant-based restaurant & health food store ownership, and broad experience working with athletes and those interested in wellness. Jay is a Registered Dietitian and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine @ NAU Student Club faculty advisor. Jay is the CFO of Full Circle of Wellness, an Arizona non-profit corporation.

Chloe Sutliffe, BS, LMT, CHWC. Chloe knows her way around the kitchen! She is the culinary lab coordinator for the Health Sciences Nutrition & Foods program. She is also a Rouxbe Culinary Certified chef who has owned and operated three plant-based restaurants, taught many cooking classes, and has a passion for health. Chloe continues to assist in local interventions by guiding participants in applying dietary change and adherence practically. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Natural Health from Clayton College of Natural Health, is a licensed massage therapist, and is a Wellcoach certified health and wellness coach. She has carefully saved the many recipes she used in her restaurants and cooking classes that her customers and students loved. These have been compiled into a cookbook hot off the presses, “Cooking with Chloe,” sold on Amazon. She continues to educate herself in the natural health field. Chloe is the CEO of Full Circle of Wellness, an Arizona non-profit corporation.

Enjoy a presentation by Ugonna Woods, MD during the potluck gathering.
Dr. Ugonna Woods is a pediatrician in Phoenix, Arizona and has been practicing for the past 21 years at a local community hospital and clinic. Dr. Woods entered medical school directly from high school and completed her Bachelors and Medical degree in six years, graduating as one of the youngest African American females to graduate from medical school in the United States. After graduating from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, she completed her pediatric residency at St Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. She loves her job and considers it a privilege to serve her patients and show them God's love. She currently is a clinical lead at a Phoenix Community Health Center and is the Health ministry director for the Arizona conference. She also enjoys being one of the area coordinators for the Arizona adventurer club. In her free time she spends time at her country home with her three boys and loves to be involved with her church's youth groups, hike, cook and travel the world on various mission trips. She is anxiously awaiting the Lord’s very soon return.
